PANACeA Second Annual Workshop was held at Kandy- Sri Lanka from 29th Jan. to 3rd Feb. 2009, where partners had interactive discussion on various topics around Project updates, Communication and dissemination, Project outcomes. Other topics covered were on Open Source such as DotProject Management, MediaWiki, Joomla, Druple, WikiPedia etc. Guest Speakers Spoke on "Bio Surveillance" and "Sahana" giving an overview of GIS. Apart from work, everyone gathered to watch a cultural show and enjoyed a social evening followed by dinner. Health Center at Matele District was visited on the last day of the workshop.

PANACeA with IDRC in Ottawa:
A meeting was convened at IDRC head quarter in Ottawa to discuss, strategise and streamline different issues in the on going PANACeA project. The three day summit was attended from AKU by Dr Shariq Khoja (AKU & AMT), Dr Zahid Ali Faheem (AKU & AMT), Dr Hammad Durrani (AKU & AMT), Ms Saira Nigar and Ms Sayyeda Ezra. On special invitation by IDRC, Dr Mohammad Khurshid ( Dean Medical College, AKU) and Ms Shagufta Hassan (Senior Manager Finance) also attended the meeting. IDRC was represented by Kathleen (Senior Program Officer), Laurent Elder (Program leader), Ms Chitali (Program Officer), and Michael Clarke (Director, ICT4D). Other AMT members who took part in the discussions were Dr Richard Scott ( Associate Professor, Pathology, Faculty of Medicine,  University of Calgary), Angelo (Executive Director, Molave Development Foundation, Inc.), Dr Molly Cheah (President, PCDOM-Malaysia).
The participants of the meeting discussed the new developments in PANACeA, different administrative and financial issues and the communication structure of PANACeA. An update on all the eight PANACeA projects was also given by the AMT members. Possible avenues and collaborations of the University and IDRC on different areas of research especially eHealth were also discussed during the meeting.
